Noorani Qaida Online with Tajweed

Noorani Qaida Online with Tajweed

Noorani Qaida is the essential foundation for anyone who wants to read the Holy Quran correctly. At Iqra Tajweed ul Quran Online Academy, we teach Noorani Qaida online through live, one-on-one and group classes designed for children, adults, and beginners with no prior knowledge of Arabic letters. Our qualified male and female tutors ensure your Qaida foundation is built correctly from day one.

Whether you are a parent looking to enroll your child, or an adult who never had the chance to learn Arabic reading, our Noorani Qaida course is structured to take you from recognizing the first letter to reading fluently with proper tajweed rules — step by step, at your own pace.

What is Noorani Qaida?

Noorani Qaida is a beginner’s primer that teaches the correct pronunciation (makhraj) of Arabic letters, vowel signs (harakat), letter joining, and basic tajweed rules — all of which are essential before a student can begin reading the Quran itself. Skipping this foundation often leads to mispronunciation of Quranic words later on, which is why we treat this course with the same seriousness as our advanced Quran classes.

Author and History of Noorani Qaida

Noorani Qaida was authored by Qari Noor Muhammad (Rahimahullah). Later, Qari Fateh Muhammad Panipatti (Rahimahullah) simplified and summarized the essential rules of Tajweed and Qirat within this Qaida, making it easier for beginner students to understand and apply these rules from the very first lesson. This is what makes Noorani Qaida such an effective and time-tested method — the foundational rules of correct Quranic pronunciation are broken down into simple, digestible steps that generations of students have benefited from.

Two Teaching Methods — Arabic Teaching Method and Pakistani Teaching Method

At Iqra Academy, we teach Noorani Qaida using two distinct methods, and this is one of the key differences that sets our course apart:

Arabic Teaching Method

This method follows the classical Arabic terminology and approach commonly used in Arab countries. Vowel signs are taught using their original Arabic names — Fatha, Kasra, and Damma — along with precise Makharij (articulation points) as naturally pronounced by native Arabic speakers. This method is especially suitable for students who wish to develop a pronunciation and terminology closer to native Arab reciters, or who plan to continue their studies later under Arab-trained teachers.

Pakistani Teaching Method

This is the traditional method taught in madrassahs across Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh for generations, using familiar Urdu terminology alongside Arabic. Vowel signs are taught using their Urdu/subcontinent names — Zabar, Zeer, and Pesh — the same terms most South Asian parents and students grew up learning. This method is preferred by families who want their children to learn in continuity with how their local Imam, madrassah, or family elders learned the Qaida.

Which one is right for you?

Before starting, our tutors discuss with you (or your child’s) background, comfort with Urdu vs. Arabic terminology, and future learning goals, and recommend the method that will be most effective. Both methods teach the exact same vowel signs, letters, and Tajweed rules — the difference lies in terminology, teaching sequence, and medium of instruction, not in the correctness of the Qaida itself.

Noorani Qaida Course Structure

Our Noorani Qaida course is divided into progressive lessons, covering:

  • Arabic Alphabet Recognition (Huroof-e-Tahajji) — correct shape and pronunciation of each letter in isolated and joined forms
  • Harakat (Vowel Signs) — Zabar, Zair, Pesh and their correct sounds
  • Tanween Rules — double vowel endings and their pronunciation
  • Madd (Elongation) Rules — natural and extended stretching of sounds
  • Sukoon and Tashdeed — silent letters and doubled letters
  • Noon Sakin and Tanween Rules — Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab, and Ikhfa
  • Qalqalah Letters — the echoing/bouncing sound rule
  • Waqf (Stopping) Signs — where and how to pause while reading
  • Practice Reading — short connected words and simple Quranic verses to apply everything learned

Each lesson builds on the previous one, and our tutors ensure a student is fully confident before moving to the next stage.
