Tajweed Rules Correction: For Those Who Already Read the Quran
If you can already read the Quran but were never formally taught Tajweed, or learned it inconsistently, this course is built for you. It’s not a beginner’s course. It’s for correcting the specific mistakes that creep into recitation when Tajweed rules were skipped, guessed at, or half-learned along the way.
If you’re not yet able to read the Quran independently, start with our Noorani Qaida course first. This course assumes you can already read; it focuses entirely on fixing how you read.
Why Correction Matters, Not Just Recitation
Reading the Quran and reading it correctly aren’t the same thing. A misplaced Noon Sakinah rule, a rushed Madd, or a Qalqalah that gets skipped can quietly change how a word sounds, and sometimes what it means. Most people who read Quran without ever having their Tajweed corrected don’t know which of their habits are wrong, because no one has listened closely enough to tell them.
What We Correct
Every student’s mistakes are different, so classes are built around your actual recitation, not a fixed syllabus. Common areas we work on:
- Makharij and Sifaat — where each letter is pronounced from, and the qualities that distinguish similar-sounding letters
- Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules — Idgham, Ikhfa, Iqlab, and Izhar, among the most commonly misapplied rules in self-taught recitation
- Meem Sakinah rules — a smaller set of rules that are still easy to get wrong under Noon Sakinah’s shadow
- Madd (elongation) — holding a vowel sound for the correct number of counts, not more, not less
- Qalqalah — the small echoing bounce on certain letters, often dropped entirely by self-taught reciters
- Waqf (stopping rules) — where and how to pause without breaking the meaning of the verse
How Correction Classes Work
Every class is live and one-on-one. Your teacher listens to you recite, in real time, and corrects mistakes as they happen rather than teaching rules in the abstract. Over time, this turns into fewer corrections needed and a recitation you can trust, whether you’re reading privately, leading prayer, or teaching your own children.

Frequently Asked Questions
I already know how to read the Quran. Do I still need to learn Tajweed rules?
Being able to read the words and reciting them with correct Tajweed are different skills. Many people read fluently but have never had their pronunciation, elongation, or stopping points corrected by a teacher.
How is this different from your regular Tajweed course?
Our main Tajweed course is built for people learning Tajweed from the start. This course is for people who already read Quran and want an experienced teacher to identify and correct their specific mistakes.
Will I need to unlearn everything I already know?
No. Most students only have a handful of recurring mistakes, not a fundamentally wrong approach. Correction classes focus on exactly those specific habits, not on starting over.
